At first glance, you’ll notice the quaint, 1800’s style, European cottages nestled into the countryside and be transported back into time. At closer look, you’ll notice the young vineyard on a gently sloping hillside, large cave doors adorning a charming stone bridge, and a magical waterfall with a brook that pools into a wishing pond. There are also sites for wedding ceremonies, wine receptions or private parties, tucked into our hillsides. Inside the cottage, a gallery for local artists is on display.
The owners’, a father and daughter team, Tom and Teresa Jorgensen are realizing their dreams of opening a one-of-a-kind, destination winery. “Every time I look around I feel like I have been transported back into time. All we would need to complete the look are horse-drawn carriages and top hats,” Teresa laughingly says while viewing the grounds.
This unique winery celebrates the serene setting and countryside, while offering delicious, locally made wine. Over two acres of vineyard, plum orchard, and raspberry patch all on site are just some of the flavors that visitors’ can look forward to in the future. Initial wine offerings from Cottage Winery include Pomegranate, White Zinfandel, and much more.
Tom Jorgensen plans to expand the vineyard over the years to offer a larger variety of on-site grapes for their wines.
His vision is to create a magical, European village that people can enjoy right in their own backyard.
Cottage Winery and Vineyard is located in Menomonie, WI three miles north of Interstate 94. It is open Thursday - Friday 12-7pm, and Saturday - Sunday 12-6pm.
